My Projects

Lots of my projects focus on nature, math, and science.

I'm currently researching and writing about octopuses, opossums, and native bees.

I also collaborate with authors Kim Leahy and Joanna Szeto.

  • Kim and I recently wrote a story about raccoons and are working on a book about misbehavior.

  • Joanna and I co-wrote a story featuring the antics of twelve delightful dinosaurs—my first serious dive into poetry! We have started working on a book about collaborative writing partnerships.

I create book guides, library resources, and original hands-on math and science activities for the Early Math Project and Count Play Explore.

I enjoy reviewing new books, especially those that highlight themes of math, nature, science, art, building, or engineering.

Lately, I've been blending two passions—photography and illustration—A few of my initial experiments are shown below.

Through my work with the Early Math Project, I'm involved in advocacy and partnership-building to support early math and science learning. I'm always excited to support family math and science events too!
